I will admit this technique looks much easier than I had imagined it would be. However, I am also wondering I there isnt an easier way, such as poking holes in the sides of the zipper where you would normally sew, and stating you project that way. I will have to give both of these ideas some thought and see which I like better.

Mostly Ive stayed away from crochet patterns that have a zipper closure since I was never able to have the zipper install without it buckling. This tutorial is a great help. Very clear and easy to understand instructions. I will have to give a zipper as closure one more try.
