How To Double Crochet Straight Edges
"Having a Straight edge is always very pleasing. Now the big Question....... how to keep straight edges while working rows and rows of double crochet stitches. One of the most important things with crochet is to count your stitches at the end of every row. Whether you are a beginner or an expert, believe me counting your stitches is always advisable. Nothing is more frustrating than having to rip out hours and hours of work, just because it doesn't have a straight edge."

I struggle with this all the time, but I have noticed that certain projects tend to be worse than others when it comes to keeping the edges straight. This is one reason I am such a huge advocate of having the stitch count posted for each row. Checking every row or two has saved me a lot of frustration because if I do find Ive missed a stitch, I only have to frog two rows at the most.
