"The foundation chain is the best way to go when starting a new project. However it is not possible to use a foundation chain on all projects. After constantly counting then recounting and still coming out with the wrong amount of stitches more often than I care to admit I finally decided to find a fool proof way to prevent this from happening. A simple trick is all you need to guarantee you have it correct the first time."

This is a really clever idea! Miscounting a chain is why I generally choose to use a Foundation stitch because it is easier for me to manage (damaged hands) and to count the stitches. However, I know there are some projects where Foundation stitches are not an option. Kudos for coming up with this simple solution to a really aggravating problem!
