Pretty In Pink Sandals

"A simple pattern that works up fairly quickly for making a cute pair of sandals, using the soles from a cheap pair of flip-flops purchased for $0.98 from Wal-Mart. I used cotton yarn (I Love This Cotton from Hobby Lobby) and a 2.5 mm and 3.0 mm hooks. Purchase several pair of flip-flops and make a variety of colors of sandals for a few dollars.; add seasonal decor embellishments or leave as is. In my area, I can wear these spring, summer, fall and sometimes during the wintertime. Easy enough pattern for a beginner to try."

NotesI purchased a size smaller flip-flops to use. I wear a size 10/11 in shoes. So, I bought a medium-sized pair (7/8) to use.

I so like this idea of the Pretty In Pink Sandals. After reading the written directions I so need to make me a pair of these. I only wish there were some pictures showing the sides of the sandals. But all and all I get the idea of how to do it and will be making these cute sandals soon. I have tried other flip flop patterns and learned to make the holes in the sandals as you go, so they don't close up or loose them.. I'm looking forward to making these. Thank you so much for sharing this free crochet sandal pattern.

So my issue with those really inexpensive flip flops, they hurt in between my toes when I wear them. Is this not a great way to still use them any way! I see them all the time in the dollar stores and I usually walk right past them. Next time I see a pair, this is the first thing I will make with them.

I believe I love summer because I can walk around bare foot or with sandals. It is not that I don't like shoes, I just love to be bare foot. I love this because I can take something plain and make it spectacular. Thank you for the free pattern.

Pink is my favorite of all the colors. This is a very clever idea to take a pair of cheap, plain flip flops and give them an up do makeover. I agree that those flip flops that you get from the Dollar Tree or at every souvenier store on the beach arent very attractive and dont usually last very long either, but I guess you get what you pay for. At least this way, you can look good for a little while before until the end of vacation and then toss them.
