I like the looks of these slippers! I really like that there are no seams because that is what seems to bother my feet most when it comes to slippers! No pun intended LOL! I like these two colors together but making them for myself I'll make them in colors that are a neutral so they go with anything else I'd wear. I'm not sure I'd do well with wool on my feet so I think I need to find a substitute. Thanks for the pattern...it's a keeper!

This pattern is actually for an adult pair of slippers for a change. Theyre rather plain (even for Mary Janes), but that could be easily remedied if you wished. The construction is different from other styles Ive seen, and I was surprised that the sole was a single layer instead of double like most adult slippers. Still, I might work one up just for curiositys sake.

Here is a pattern that I have used and I LOVE these Mary Jane Slippers! I think the color combination she used is so classic and vintage. I did mine in a ruby red color with black trim. If you've never made Mary Janes before, you will love these as I did! I prefer an acrylic yarn for more bounce back/stretchiness. Washable and dryable, too.

Love love love s pattern....so easy to make!! I've made many pair. thanx for posting pattern

These are not done in double crochet, if you see she makes a note at the top of the page that it is single crochet for us American's. I wear a size 7.5 and they fit me perfectly. I used Lily Cotton Yarn, which is not conducive to stretching. I would suggest using a soft acrylic yarn for more stretch. Or using a bulkier yarn & larger hook. I love this pattern and worked up the pair of slippers in about a hour. I am now going to make them for all my presents for next Christmas! Although I think I will try to find a softer yarn because the Lily yarn can start to hurt my feet (and leave indents in them) after walking around in them too long.

i started the pattern thinking that it would stretch, because it was said in the pattern that they will stretch to fit a 9.5 us... there is no way they would stretch that far and i was perfect on my gauge. so needless to say I had to go up a hook size and add stitches. In my opinion I think you should change the statement about them stretching up to a 9.5 US.

I really am interested to try this pattern looks simple for newbee Thank you kindly for sharing : )

HELP!! I thought I made these pretty well and close to gauge but my completed slippers only fit a size 6-7. Anybody have suggestions as to making the pattern fit a size 9-10? I'm fairly new to crochet so I'm not at all able to figure out how to alter the pattern for size variations...any help welcome!

Pretty and sweet! my next project after my hat for cancer.

Mary Janes have always been my favorites. I can't wait to try this. Thanks for the free pattern.

These are the easiest and cutist slippers I have ever crocheted. I have made dozens of these for my family. I have 5 pair made waiting for buttons. I found the cutist buttons at Joanns and Hobby Lobby. I use 3/4 buttons with cooridinating colors. Everybody loves their Mary Janes. Thanks for this free pattern!!!

Would you mind helping me? I don't understand the pattern as much...if its a double crochet do i still skip the first chain in the new round? Or do I just continue on? Also do i have to do the foundation chain at the beginning or does it just become a regular chain because the whole "double crochet on the second chain from the hook" confuses me/:
