An addendum - someone on the designer's site wanted to make the pattern for an adult friend nicknamed Ducky. This was my response but the designer had closed comments on it because she'd been getting a lot of spam there. Just wanted to share it here with this pattern, in hopes that she will see it as well as the crocheter with a friend named Ducky.

I'm posting a story here I could not post on the designer's site, concerning the nickname Ducky. That was my nickname in my high school physics class, so given by my teacher. Other friends didn't get it when they saw it with signatures in the my high school yearbook. Later on in grad school I met a guy named Donald Duck (seriously). He was a bit miffed when I chuckled a bit when he introduced himself to me. That changed when I told him my name -- Peggy Drake. This pattern will be fun to try as a donation to the Pink Slipper Project, and perhaps one for me, too.
