Not Your Average Shawl
When you want to feel and look truly lovely, the Not Your Average Shawl will do the trick. Worked up rows that give it a striping effect, this free crochet shawl pattern is perfect for all seasons. Wrap it around yourself for comfort and style. We love the faded rainbow colors shown here, but this shawl would look great in any color. This shawl has many uses and would work for many occasions, which makes it far better than average.

Truthfully, I would market this as a basic, everyday shawl. The colors are lovely, though. It is very serene and tranquil to look at. I don't know if I would name it the "Not Your Average Shawl" as I have seen quite a few shawls using this same double crochet, chain and skip formula. The only thing different about it is the added row of a straight double crochet. I do see a pretty little bobble or a picot on a row of trim which is very nice. I can see cuddling up with this on a cool summer evening.
