Watercolor Cowl
"The Watercolor Cowl is a beautiful addition to your cold weather wear, but it's also light enough to wear as a decorative scarf! This cowl is fast to work up and uses simple stitch work. Plus, it has so many possibilities: 2 cowls come from 1 cake, they're reversible, unisex, and you can make matching sets: Mommy & Me, Mother & Son, Best Friends...etc. You can use a fringe edging, tassels, another fun crochet edging, or leave it as a smooth clean finish."

It is still to hot to be thinking about scarves and cowls and such but I just happen to run across this one while surfing through patterns. I love this watercolor version and it looks so cool. It reminds me of the colors of the ocean waves. I like the notation that this is a unisex pattern. We do tend to leave the guys out, lol.

I have seen a few patterns of the cowl variety with added fringes. For a minute I did not think I liked them. However, the more patterns I see with the fringe, the more I am liking the idea. It does give the piece a certain added feature. I always thought of fringes as a "hippy" thing and just not my style. I have to admit this cowl is really very fashionable.

I like the look of this Watercolor Cowl that is so easy to make. The colorway used is beautiful and this one can be waren as a poncho if your smaller in size. How cool is that? The simple stitch pattern make a nice looking material both on the front and back. You really can't go wrong with this one. The pattern is well written and easy to follow. Great gift idea too. Thank you so much for sharing this free crochet cowl pattern.

This is a gorgeous scarf, and to be honest, the designer had me at the assertion that you can get TWO cowls from one cake of yarn! I also dont think of cowls as being reversible, but heres a perfect example. I love the fringe, I love all the different ways it can be worn, and if you choose the right colors, it can be unisex, too. What more could you want?

This Watercolor Cowl is comprised of simple single crochets, done up in the BLO (back look only) to create a nice rib that stretches and bounces back. I LOVE how it is reversible, and that she shows so many color options and different types of people wearing it. It is very versatile! I am currently working with the Spirit colorway on another project, too!
