My Fair Scarf
"My Fair Scarf, starring, elegant crochet & Red Heart yarn. Now that’s the start of a great cast of characters. This free crochet pattern using Red Heart’s new Super Saver Fair Isle yarn, which is made to create a Fair Isle pattern when knitted, and it also creates a great design when you crochet it in linen stitch. This pattern is simple to make and works up very quickly, yet produces a fun and vibrant result. Picture yourself in this lovely scarf with a Fair Isle pattern & crochet linen stitch!"

Fair Isle is one of my favorite motifs, and while this is not a true Fair Isle pattern, it does sort of resemble certain aspects. Its really named more for the Red Heart yarn more than the traditional pattern. The Linen stitch pattern itself is very easy to work and so repetitive it makes the perfect TV project. Dont limit yourself to the Fair Isle yarn palette because this would work well for any color scheme.

I do like the look of this My Fair Scarf, but there has to to be a error in the written pattern. Row one has you making a chain and sc, skip 1, sc across. Row 2 says sc in ch-1 sp, ch 1, skip 1 sc across. There are no chain 1 stitches in row 1. So I don't understand how this would work? Am I missing something? Thanks for sharing anyways.

I am thinking that she made this scarf using one entire skein of the Red Heart Fair Isle. But it works up a little on the short side for me. I like to have my scarves be at the very least a 72" length, even longer if I can get it. It is pretty, though, and I like the linen stitch.
