So you do not have to have a Mandala Cake to crochet This Pattern."

Wow, I like this Mandala scarf. I've always loved scarves in different colors and design in one. I can't wait to start this mandala scarf, although if in case I start this, I want to make it a lot wider. I hate skinny scarves, they cannot protect your arms and body from the cold.

Since Im so short, I like how skinny scarves look on my than wider ones. Its a matter of proportion for me as much as functionality. The designer uses a cake yarn for this scarf, but you could work it up in individual color blocks if you cant find the exact colors you want. Its a bit more effort to work in the ends but I dont mind, especially if Im working school colors.

The Mandala (Sparkle) Skinny Scarf is worked in a vertical fashion not horizontal. So, you only crochet 20 across and just work back and forth for the length, versus chaining 100 or 200, if that makes any sense. This way, the pattern emerges in the center, as you go. I like the look. Thanks for this new pattern offering.
