Merino wool is so surprisingly soft. I love a good merino wool light weight sweater. The colors of this lacy scarf are actually a deep purple, a medium lilac and some kind of granite gray, from what it looks like to me. At first I assumed this was going to require a lot of concentration and experience until I realized it is mostly a series of chains mixed with clusters of double crochets!

This is just lovely. It will work with a thicker yarn, but if you want the delicate lace of the original, youll need to invest in some fingering yarn. Some of the baby yarns might work, too, but Id compare them in the store before making a purchase. I love those tiny little shells even though theyre hidden when the scarf is worn. You can also seam it to form a cowl.
