This is only one of a number of amigurumi scarves that Ive seen lately. One big advantage I can see with a scarf like this is that its not as likely to be left behind on the school bus as a regular one! This pretty kitty version could just as easily be turned into a puppy or teddy bear just by changing the ears and the facial embroidery.

I think this is certainly cute, but to me it does not look nearly long enough for a scarf. It looks more like a chair pal for a little kiddo to cuddle up to and play with. That's okay. It's still a neat idea! Make the head first, then all the body parts are made separately and added on.

I would think that you could make the body longer depending on how tall the child is. But I do agree with you--the photo angle does make it look short.
