I've always liked stripes, checks, and plaids so this Easiest Plaid scarf is one of my favorites. I'm starting it soon. I have another pattern of a similar plaid scarf in green and red, so beautiful!!

My grandmother was born in Ayrshire, so anything plaid immediately catches my attention. Because most textiles are woven to get the plaid pattern, its not easy to replicate in crochet. This designer has found a brilliantly simple way to do just that. The entire scarf is a mesh base, and works perfectly to weave in the extra strands. Learning how to create the mesh will be useful for other projects, too.
