This chunky cowl is made with 2 skeins of chunky wool yarn with a beautiful variegated colorway. MATERIALS: Approximately 212 yds of Category 6 Super Bulky Yarn; I used Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick* in the Coney Island colorway Size P 10mm Crochet Hook* Yarn Needle* for weaving ends Scissors*."

I like the Lion Brand Thick and Quick. It is such a chunky and soft yarn and helps you to work up those projects fast and furious! I think if you are looking for a relatively inexpensive gift idea that won't take a ton of your personal time, this one is it. The Coney Island colorway is awesome!

So gorgeous and it looks so delightfully cozy and warm for our coming winter here in South Africa. And in a chunky yarn, using a 20mm crochet hook it should not take longer than a couple of hours, at the very most, to make up. I just love the yarn used and so hope it is available here or my wonderful local yarn store will have to find me a substitute.
