Caramel Mocha Slanted Shell Cowl
"When I designed this back in October 2015, I was just shooting for a designing a large cowl as I hadn't done so before, but it ended up being the perfect design to submit to the Happily Hooked Magazine for their Cold Weather Gear, Issue 21. It combines one of my favorite yarns with one of my favorite stitch patterns, is nice and warm and is the perfect cold weather accessory to either keep your neck warm, or pull up over your head if it gets windy. For this project I used two skeins each of Hobby Lobby's I Love This Yarn. I worked on it in several seatings, but took about a total of 7 hours to complete."

I really like the look of this Caramel Mocha Slanted Shell Cowl. The pattern is easy to read and understand. The three basic stitches together make a nice pattern. This cowl will be a great warm addition to my collection of cowls. Thank you so much for sharing this free crochet pattern.

So very welcome, Cheryl! Did you get a chance to try this pattern? I like how it's larger so can be worn over the shoulders or pulled up over the head/face. I have been wanting to work on a matching hat.

Im starting to favor cowls over scarves. Cowls dont get tangled up, accidentally dragged on the ground or caught in the car door. Ill continue to make bespoke specialty scarves like Dr. Who and Game of Thrones. This caramel colored cowl is very basic, but the neutrality adds to the versatility. Its an easy enough pattern for beginners, too.
