I really like this scarf. When my daughters were little, I nearly always opted for some sort of hooded scarf for them, but never really considered it for myself. Im finding I like hoods for myself now because its so much easier to just flip down when not needed. Dont need to worry about dropping a hat out of a coat pocket either. I have a good chunk of Caron One Pound in Ivory left from another project so I should have enough for this lovely scarf.

I had very high hopes for this pattern, but i am finding it to be a bit confusing. The pictures add more confusion instead of helping. I love the way it looks and will have to give it a shot and modify as I go. Anyone have any tips as to what worked for them?

I am very disappointed in this hooded scarf. It is exactly what I need and yet I found the instructions very confusing. There were pictures and illustrations and I still could not follow it. Is it me? i see where other people have made it.

I was a fairly easy pattern to follow but I did have to reread the directions & redo a few rows/stitches to get started. Once I got that figured out it was easy & quick. I plan to try making another one with a wider scarf section.

Not difficult to do, but I did have to concentrate on the directions & redo a few rows when I first started it. Made more sense as I went along. It turned out quite nice and I'm starting another one, hoping to make a bit wider scarf section.

Like other comments, I find the directions very confusing, even with the pictures. I don't know who the "easy" is for, perhaps someone with a lot of experience? I love the look, but.....

This is a great pattern... I made one from some beautiful variegated yarn that is primarily shades of lavendar with bits of pale blue, creamy yellow, and soft greens... Like a lovely garden. Because the yarn created stripes, I decided to turn the hood so my stripes were vertical, and I didn't do the trim. I love it because I prefer hoods because they don't squash my hair like hats do. Thanks!

I would make this hooded scarf because it would cover my head, ears and neck better than the basket weave scarf. I would make it in Red Heart Soft White to go with everything.

I like this pattern, but I would change the color to either red or purple. I would use whatever color the person whom I'm crocheting for likes. I like that it was done in yellow so that you can see the details.

Ok, now I'm feeling a little bad. I had no trouble downloading the pattern, and I don't even want to make it as shown. I wanted the pattern for yarn type and hook size. I plan to make it in the tunisian stitch, but with the same type of edging on the hood as shown. I didn't do anything special. I just clicked on the download link and saved it to my desk top.
