I like the vertical orientation on this chevron stripe blanket better than the typical horizontal direction. How colorful, fun, and most likely a blast to make! To the commenter below I would say why don't you and your teenage daughter take turns working on this together? One day you do a stripe and then she'll do the next color stripe and so on and so forth!

Such a fun afghan to look at with the bright color combination and the zigzag chevron design. It looks quite light to which is nice to use as a throw when the weather is just slightly cooler. Oh, the good news is that our teenage daughter (who has just started to crochet) saw this afghan on my screen right now and has decided SHE will make it. OK, so I can tackle the next things on my Things to Crochet list!

A classic pattern that has been around for as long as I can remember. Seems like everybody had one of these of their sofa in the 70s. Great way to use up leftover yarns from other projects. The more colors the better on this type of afghan. Can be made with a variety of yarn weights also to accommodate everyones taste.

This is really pretty. I love the tiered effect working in the back loops creates. It is not only an easy afghan to make, it is also a great stash buster to use up leftover half and quarter balls of yarn from other projects. I would prefer it as a full size blanket, but this is a great size to keep handy for cool nights watching tv or reading on the couch.

I want to make this afghan, it is so colorful and vibrant. I like the combination of those colors together. It helps a lot that the pattern is just right on the same page. Thank you!

yarn over, insert hook into next stitch, pull up a loop, yarn over, draw through 2 loops, do this 2 more times in the next 2 stitches, then yarn over and draw through all remaining loops.
