Zen Yarn Garden provides luxurious fibers available in beautifully dyed yarns ranging in beautiful one-of-a-kind colorways. It was no surprise that when I got my hands on the Art Walk Series, I instantly fell in love; this yarn is amazing.
Each of the yarns within the series not only comes in unique colors like Mediterranean Landscape, Tree in Autumn, The Red Room, Walking to Church, Blue Nude, Number 18, Petunias, Rejoice, and Improvisation, but there's a story behind each of the yarns. For example, Diamond Dust Shoes features a painting by Andy Warhol. "From one medium to the next, artists express their use of color." Each of the colors is inspired by art and the color will truly capture just that. Blue Nude was inspired by Pablo Picasso when his friend tragically died; "His "Blue Period" rendered in somber blues and greens," which resulted in thousands of pieces of art.
The Art Walk Series consists of Serenity Silk or Serenity 20 yarn made of 70% merino, 20% cashmere and 10% nylon with approximately 400 yards of fingering weight per skein. If you're looking for a soft, luxurious yarn with durability and strength, then look no further. This yarn is super soft and has just the right amount of shimmer from the cashmere; you definitely need to have this yarn in your collection. Although there's a hefty price tag, you won't want to go back to another yarn again.
Serenity 20 can easily be worked up into a fabulous pair of socks, a crochet shawl, a knit cowl or a pair of winter mittens. Because it's such a light weight yarn, you can sport your items during any time of year, whether hot or cold. You can machine wash your projects, which is nice, but I would recommend washing on a light cycle. The next time you ponder what yarn to get for your next project consider Serenity 20 from the Art Walk Series; you’ll be able to make your own masterpiece.
