My mother still has one of these pincushions made of tomato red fabric and embroidered with dark green cord. The strawberry part contains iron filings for sharpening needles and pins. It would be fun to make this pattern in crochet. The pin cushions would be great stocking stuffers, party favors, or bazaar items!
