"I have used this star applique on a few patriotic hats I've made - like my Star and Stripes Baby Beanie, and Seeing Stars Basic Baby Beanie - but I wanted to see what other sizes and looks I could achieve by switching out the hook size and yarn used. This pattern contains one basic pattern, and 6 different sizes, which yarn used and corresponding hook. No matter the size, I had my little star ready to go in about ten minutes."

I make so many plain hats that Ive started collecting patterns for various appliqus. These little touches make such a difference between a plain project and an extraordinary one. I appreciate that the author offers the pattern in six different sizes because I make hats in various sizes. So I can plan a design for one hat, and replicate it for all the others.

Appliques are so fun because by simply changing the yarn size, it can be used for sooooo many things! I've recently started working applique patterns in sewing thread for jewelry and card making appliques. So fun!
