"Swatch Boards – Crochet By-Products Swatching is key to good crochet project results. The more projects you do, the more swatches you prepare. If you are experimenting with many stitch patterns multitudes of swatches will result. When the swatch container begins to overflow, it may be time to create a swatch board. These are fun to do. The process provides a lot of reflection time; project memories return as swatches are recognized. Completed boards make for great inspiration. To boot, they make for great artwork worthy of prominent display."

Interesting. At the start of my projects, I am just so anxious to get started I would never take the time to create something like this. However, the next time I have a really involved project, I think I will give this a go.

This is artwork at a new level. I never really held onto any of the practice pieces with learning a new technique or coming up with a color scheme. I suppose for those really involved projects this is another way to remember all the love you put into it especially if the finished product is a gift for someone.

I have to admit that this is the first time that I have seen or heard of this type of project. I never save any of my swatches. I usually work them to get the gauge correct and then unravel them immediately after success and start on the project with what I have learned. This is indeed very interesting to find out.
