Im not too sure how practical this would be for an actual picnicI know it wouldnt hold nearly enough for my family. But it would work wonderfully well for a childs toy. I have a few sets of IKEA dishwear for my grandchildren to play with when they visit, and they havent really had a home other than a bin. This might make a nice alternative and encourage even more play.

This is so cute. It's great because when not in use it can be stored away in a kitchen drawer, no storage problem at all. It's a very easy pattern and not difficult to follow. I would say the wire in the handle is a good idea. And when it's dirty, just toss in the washer.

For me, I think the idea of a basket designed to mimic an actual picnic basket is a brilliant idea. But I would use this to put all my apples from the farmer's market and display it on the kitchen counter. What a cute basket weave design. It is not too, too big, either. A nice fairly compact size.
