Hola Pillow
"This fiesta ready "hola" pillow cover is so simple yet unique. The easy pattern is perfect for the warm season crocheting and the finished pillow perfect for getting your house summer ready! By cross stitching on a panel of single crochets, even a beginner can achieve this look. It's like cross stitch and crochet were meant to be together. Skills to know include basic cross stitch skills and basic crochet skills - chains, single crochets, color changes."

This is an opportunity to work with two of my favorite craft mediums, crochet and counted cross stitch. My sons girlfriend minored in Spanish in college and they both recently returned from a trip to Chile. This would be a great gift to commemorate the vacation.

Cross Stitch is literally the only form of embroidery I can work without completely embarrassing myself. If you havent tried working cross stitch on a Single crochet background, youre actually in for a treat. Like most cross stitch, this goes pretty fast, and those large holes are much easier for us older crafters to see! Ive had my seniors work up banners like these.

Pillows are one of my favorite things to make because they can be completed in a short amount of time. I have never done any cross stitch but after a little research it seems easy enough. I guess I could create my own cross stitch pattern to "say" anything on my pillow. I like this project idea.

I think this pillow cover is going to be a whole lot easier than I anticipate it to be.The cross stitching into the basic crochet stitches is a really user friendly way to get that tapestry look. I think once I get started on it, I won't have to count stitches and rows, I can just reference the pic as I go. Make one in the hot green, too!
