This is such a neat design you will want to have in your home. A free crochet pattern like this crocheted lampshade is something you will want to keep forever. It makes a great conversation piece too.

I really need to get of this computer and stop looking at patterns. I keep finding patterns that I want to make. From home decor to cloths. I have a lamp like this that could really be upgraded with this added. There are so many crochet projects and so little time.

So easy and simple. I have never used starch with my crochet items. Will the color of the yarn change with starch applied in this manner? When the item is washed, will it loose its shape? Thanks in advance for the return comments.

I have two table lamps that have doily lampshades. Many compliments by those who crochet and can appreciate what it takes to make them.

I like unstructured patterns. They encourage us to play and be creative. Very ingenious design

Well, they're cute, but the idea of dusting them really puts me off. I used to have needlepoint-on-plastic Kleenex boxes. Any yarn attracts our desert dust like crazy.

I did the same sort of thing when I found my lampshade was a few inches too short....I didn't want to return the lamp shade so I crocheted about a 4 inch "doily" type trim for it. It looks great.
