Cactus Pillow
"A totally trendy crochet pillow cover that combines two of the best crafts ever! Who knew that a square of single crochets is so perfect for adding a cross stitch design? The front panel is a simple black and white striping pattern with the cross stitch design added on top and the back panel is a fun pink and white striped pattern. You only need basic crochet and cross stitch skills to make this adorable pillow!"

This is an interesting design. I have seen cross stitch over crochet before but there is something different about this design. I think it is the choice of using the single crochet to create the rows. Typically the cross stitch designs are Tusini stitch. I like this version.

I agree with the designer. I am not a lover of the cacti needle either but they are still very beautiful in there own way. I can really get on board with this version though. I love to cross stitch and this pairs my love for both cross stitch and crochet. Thanks for the free pattern.

This is a cute pillow but for me, it would be double the work. Instead of working the entire cactus motif in cross stitch, I would much rather try working it as a Tapestry project instead. Im faster using this than cross stitch, and dont even get me started on embroidery. I really do like that striped pillow all by itself, so that Ill definitely consider working that up.

It's easy, cute as can be and not much material is needed. That's what I like as far as a project goes. I have a guest room done in a south western theme so this will fit right in nicely. I think two of them on the bed would be perfect.
