Upcycled Shamrocks
"What can you do with those pesky water bottle rings? Well, you can upcycle them into holiday decorations! This shamrock pattern can make a unique St. Patrick's Day garland, napkin rings, key chains, small photo frames or individual ornaments. Make the garland as long or as short as you like. This pattern is easy. The stitches required are single crochet, half double crochet and double crochet. The pattern also contains written instructions for crocheting around a plastic ring."

My favorite suggestion for these shamrocks is using them as napkin rings! How cute is that?! Hey, why not add a safety pin to the back, and pin it on your top or jacket? Make a whole bunch for everyone at school or in the office. Has anyone tried somehow attaching these to a store bought headband, like bunny ears or reindeer antlers? That would be a fun idea, too.

I like the principal behind upcycling, but unfortunately I dont drink that many individual bottles of water as we have our own in home filter and refillable bottles. So Im always scrambling to find alternatives to the water bottle ring. I have found that small ponytail holders from Dollar Tree, etc. work fairly well. I can get a packet of 100 black ones for $1. Not recycling, but better than buying something I dont need.

It's easy, inexpensive and cute. What else do you want in a DIY project? There are so many ways to use this. A banner, of course, a decoration on the table, oh yeah! Even a necklace. There are just so many ways to go with thus. Use your imagination!thanks for sharing.
