Crochet Shamrock Applique

"This Shamrock would be wonderful as an appliqué for your hat, a beautiful embellishment to your other projects, you even can make it into a pin or magnet. I was using cotton crochet thread size 10 in green and crochet hook size 6/1.8 mm for this project. You are welcome to experiment with different yarn and hook sizes."

Crochet Hook6 or 1.8 mm hook (steel)

Yarn Weight(0) Lace (33-40 stitches to 4 inches). Includes crochet thread.

Finished SizeShamrock is about 1-3/4” wide and 2” tall.

Materials List

Cotton crochet thread size 10

Instructions

Ch 5, join with Sl St to form a ring.
Round 1. Ch 1, * SC into ring, Ch 6, 2 SC into ring*, repeat from * to * 2 more times, Sl St to first SC of round.
Round 2. **Work {{SC, [Ch 1, DC] - twice, Ch 1, 2 DC, [Ch 1, DC] – twice, Ch 1, SC}} into Ch-6 space, Sl St into middle SC between two Ch-6**. Repeat from ** to ** 2 more times.
Round 3. SC into each of next 2 Sts, *** SC into next Ch-1 space, SC into next St, [[2 SC into next Ch-1 space, SC into next St]] – twice, Ch 2, SC into next St, [[2 SC into next Ch-1 space, SC into next St]] – twice, SC into next Ch-1 space, Sl St into St between two petals of Shamrock. Repeat from *** to *** 2 more times, but last time work Sl St into second St of three Sts between petals.
Stem. Ch 10, SC into 2nd Ch from hook and into each of next 8 Chs, Sl St into the same St where last Sl St of Round 3 was made.
Fasten off and weave in the ends.

This is a wonderful appliqu pattern, and Im so glad this talented designer is being featured! I just finished a Celtic Knot patterned headband in cream, and this shamrock is the perfect size to use as an embellishment. The instructions are easy to follow, and Im looking forward to exploring some of this designers other offerings. Many thanks for a wonderful find!
