I have never been much for wearing hats but since moving to the coast of North Carolina and finding myself on the waters edge a lot of the time, I am looking for ways to keep the sun out of my face. I like the floppy edge of this design and I can't wait to make this. I am looking for this bright lemon yellow but in a cotton or fingerling yarn. Do you think the chose of either of those will make a difference. Looking for a "cool" hat.

If this wonderful yellow secret garden wide brim sun hat does not scream summer, then I do not know what does. The addition of the beautiful flower gives it that extra touch and it would also be exquisite with an added band.

This is such a pretty hat for summer. I love the open work in the body of the hat, and the contrast with the subtle texture pattern of the brim. The designer has posted easy to follow instructions, and has included a close up photo demonstrating how to make the chain skips at the open work section. I love that bright lemon color she chose, too!

Secret garden wide brim sun hat is made with such a pretty and sunny shade of yellow. This hat looks like summer and it will definitely keep the summer sun out of your eyes and the bright and sunny days at the beach or just outside in general. Great pattern. Very easy to understand.
