"Winky Winky the Owl is a great Spring hat since she is made with 100% cotton. She will keep your little ones warm on those breezy but brisk Spring days, but she won’t get them all sweaty like an acrylic hat would. The hat pattern is written in four sizes, 3-6mo, 6-12mo, 12-24 mo and 3-5 years, but can easily be modified to fit anyone. A sizing chart (in pattern post) is a helpful tool to customize any hat pattern."
Crochet HookG/6 or 4 mm hook, I/9 or 5.5 mm hook

Like the designer, I also have a little one who is crazy for owls. In this case, its a granddaughter in Texas, so using the cotton yarn instead of the acrylic is an absolute must. Ive worked up several other owl hats, but never one with as cute an expression as this little winking version. Kudos for finding and posting this one!

She really went into great detail creating this pattern. This is a super cute novelty hat for the little ones, both boys and girls! If you've got patience in abundance, you can make this pretty easily I would think. But don't expect a quick instant gratification. It is not that kind of project. THanks for posting this!

This is the only owl hat I have seen also that has one eye open and one eye winking so I am guessing that is how this pattern got its name. Kids and adults love fun little hats like this to wear in the cold weather. Instructions only go up to size 3 to 5 year olds so if you know how to enlarge you can make one that is for adults too.
