Even though this hat starts out with a conventional Magic Ring, the rapid increases in the first three rounds begins to create the unique pleated look on top. I like this style, but dont like the additional work of having to draw the top closed. The rest of the pattern is just as easy. Although it looks tricky, this would be a great hat for a beginner.
