I have everything made but am totally baffled on how to close the top of it. It says to fold in the pieces and SC. Does this mean I have a ring of SC with my center points at the top and I stitch each "seam" down to the other end? I also don't know how many 'points' I am supposed to bring together. I am lost. I really want to finish this hat - the texture came out so pretty and I will be proud to show it off. But I'm stuck. Thanks!

If you think you know how this hat is constructed just by glancing at it, youre probably wrong. The pattern starts off conventionally enough with the ribbing but its set aside after finishing off. The body is worked as a separate tube shape. One end of the tube is gathered to form the top, and the other end is hand sewn to the ribbing. Not the way Id do it, but Vickie Howell is well known in the Knit and Crochet world, so Ill defer to her method on this one.

I think I have just found the hat to make for my grand daughter and myself. Plus because of the design her long hair will fit nicely inside. I would love this color but if I want her to like it, it has to be either pink or purple. Thank you for sharing this beauty.

I absolutely adore anything Vickie Howell designs. Her designs are always hip and modern. A friend at work asked me for a slouchy hat and I luckily had 2 skeins of Sheepish I had been waiting to use. I was so glad I found this pattern. It was fairly easy, but be forewarned Sheepish has a roving quality, so if you subsitute the yarn it will not look exactly the same and you may even need to change your hook size to get the guage right.

After reading the pattern through, I simply don't understand it. The hat would be perfect for a friend of mine but I just can't understand the pattern. I wish I could. And then, I read the reviews of it and it seems like a lot of people are having the same problems. I'll keep searching for a perfect slouch hat for her.

I love this hat. I made it in Magenta(ish) color of her stitch.rock.love. yarn. It is a little heavy but I just pin the hat to my hair and I have no problem with it.

I would not want to make or wear one. For me it would be too heavy in the back.
