The "Lacy" Hat
"The Lacy Hat is a simple and quick pattern to work up. It requires only a small amount of yarn and the resulting hat has a feminine lacy look to it but is still bulky enough to offer warmth on a chilly day. The Lacy Hat only takes about 2 oz. of a worsted weight yarn of your choice. It has been tested with several different brands and all of them, including easy to source brands such as Red Heart, worked well."

Wow, considering the size of the hook (K/7mm), I had figured that the recommended yarn would be some sort of Bulky or at least doubling a standard 4 ply worsted. The designer describes her woes in trying to create this project, and boy, can I ever relate. The only thing is that I expect to have to pull out stitches. In fact, I keep some used and reused yarn just for working up swatches and trying new ideas. Once Ive figured it out, I use new yarn to work up the finished version.
