The Crossover Hat
"The Crossover Hat gets it's name for two reasons. One, the design of the stitches cross over each other. Two, this hat is a comfortable, roomy design made to fit both men and women. The pom pom is completely optional but adds a bit of flair. This is a nice thick hat that can be made from any worsted weight yarn. It will take less than a skein of most brands so it is a great chance to use up a partial skein you may have lying around."

This delightfully textured hat is worked from the bottom up. I like a tighter hat around the bottom, so I followed the designers advice to drop down a hook size or two. I routinely do that for my top down hats anyway, but hadnt thought of it for the bottom up variety. Its just beautiful in a solid color, but I worked mine in maroon and orange instead per a granddaughters request (her school colors).
