Tender Reina Crochet Hat
"This is a very easy project - perfect for a beginner. You work the hat flat and seam it together at the end. One of my favorite textures in crochet hats is alternating rows of half double crochet and rows of single crochet, all worked in the back loop only. Both sides are beautiful and textured. This is a one-ball project featuring Be So Tender Yarn, 100% organic cotton, #4 medium worsted weight. This hat works up super quick with a size H/8 (5mm) crochet hook. This is a great project for a beginner, or for last minute gifts! To print or convert to PDF, please click the green “Print Friendly” button at the bottom of this free pattern page. The instructions are for a woman's hat (20" circumference). Follow the chart for modifying this pattern to fit newborn, toddler, child, adult woman and adult man sizes. Also, there are 3 video tutorials: right handed, left handed and slower for beginners. All can be found at Kristin Omdahl's YouTube Channel"

This is such a simple hat and perfect for a Beginner. The alternating rows of Single and Half Doubles worked in the Back Loop Only is what gives the hat its lush velour effect. The designer provides an instructional video for both right and left handers. Theres also a chart for the approximate number of stitches based on size, and the project can be downloaded via .pdf.

This is one of those slouchy beanies that are worked sideways. It has a ribbed effect, created by alternating rows of single crochets and back loop single crochets. Suitable for a beginner crocheter, you can work this up with confidence. I notice that this blogger/designer uses earth friendly organic yarn on all her offerings. That is much appreciated!
