What a great idea! I think that both my daughter and grand daughter will love one! Maybe even matching ones.

This convertible hat/cowl is such a great idea. When you have limited space, its nice to have accessories that serve more than one function. The directions are a little tricky if youve never made anything cabled, especially since that part of the pattern is made in the round. There arent any photos to go along with the instructions. It might be helpful to newer crocheters to show exactly how to locate the back loops and how to transition from the hat band to the main body.

I love this idea. My grand daughter hates wearing any hats because, according to her, they smash her pony tail. This will certainly solve that complaint. I just have to make it in pink or purple or both and grandma becomes her hero! Thank you for sharing this great idea.

I love this hat! I think it would be perfect for a teenager. It is fashionable and so versatile as a cowl too. What colours are fashionable for young girls at present? I would like to try one in white with a contrast trim in lilac. Comments would be appreciated. I can usually just think of colours that I like to wear. Black trimmed with black being my favourite!

I was just reading an article that spoke of the color for 2017. It is a green color. It was a rather pretty shade at that. Just type www.google.com and ask what the fashion color will be for 2017. It will give you the name and the picture. I hope this helps.
