I love this pattern but need it for my granddaughter. How do I make it smaller (19")? Could I just use a size or two smaller needle? Thanks for any help!

I have been seeing so many patterns for these bun hats that I had to try one out. This project is very neatly worked crochet, clean edges, and interesting detail at the bottom of the hat. I have several granddaughters and nieces who would love one of these. One big gripe I hear is that they cant wear most hats because of their ponytail bump, and theyve outgrown the headband phase.

I love the soft blue color of this hat! Perfect for the lazy days when I throw my hair up but still want the full warmth of a hat instead of ear warmers. It'd be a great last-minute gift!
