"This cool crochet hat is modeled after the amazing Team USA chunky knit hats seen on Chloe Kim and other Olympic Athletes this year. I instantly fell in love with Chloe Kim and her adorable chunky knit hat, and knew I had to create a knit-look Crochet version! This hat is made with four strands of bulky 5 yarn held together, but 5 stranda of worsted weight yarn would work just fine, too! You'll love this fun, super quick project!"

    Crochet HookQ or 16mm hook

    Yarn Weight(5) Bulky/Chunky (12-15 stitches for 4 inches)

Heres just the thing for your own future Olympic champion! While I enjoyed yet another version of Chloes hat, this post is more a treatise on why you should be using a ball winder for all your yarn projects. I have seriously given some thought to getting one of these. The one she links to in the post seems to be a good option.

I do love the color choice used in this faux knit hat. She's got the right idea by not using the athlete's name in her pattern. You avoid all sorts of trouble that way. -) I think using multiple strands of yarn versus one strand from a super bulky weight yarn gives it a whole different look. It is good to experiment with things like this.
