Meandering Walk in the Woods Basketweave Beanie
This textured beanie is super stretchy and extra cozy. A matching Meandering Walk in the Woods Ripple Scarf pattern is also available. Skills Used Basic crochet stitches: chain, double crochet, single crochet, slip stitch Crocheting in the round Increasing Special stitches: BPdc and FPdc (with link to video tutorials) Skill Level Easy Finished Size Adult: 8” (20.5 cm) length x 21” (53.5 cm) hat circumference. Materials Premier Candy Shop yarn (100% acrylic, 5 oz/140 g/260 yd/138 m) – 1 skein in 1507-14 Twix, or approximately 210 yd (192 m) in any medium weight yarn. US Size I-9/5.5 mm crochet hook, or size needed to obtain gauge. Yarn needle. Gauge Through Rnd 4 = 4.5” (11.5 cm) diameter in pattern. For best fit, always check your gauge.

Yarn Weight(4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)

This beanie is actually part of a twofer. When you go to the link, theres a sort of matching scarf pattern before you ever get to the beanie. The hat is worked from the top down with plain crown. The Basket Weave portion starts once youve finished your increases. The designer finishes the hat with a single round of Single Crochet but I would add either another round or two, or even work a Crab stitch after that. It just looks too abrupt the way it is

The link for this pattern takes me to Ravelry and they want $2.50 for the pattern. I would like to have this pattern because I love doing the basket weave stitches that look so nice. I'll be coming back and see when this pattern is free. Thanks the the offer.

Yes, this is definitely an intermediate project. Lots of specialty stitches involved in the making of this beanie. These stitches add a beautiful texture to it also.
