Oh how cute are these Mae's Blanket Hats? I need to buy more blanket yarn and try this one. I love the blanket yarn, it's so soft and warm and with the thickness of it, you don't need to make a lot of rounds for this hat. The cat ears are so cute. I like the ear flaps too, I so want one of these for myself. Thank you for sharing this free crochet hat pattern.

Since I am not already subscribed to enough emails, I subscribed to this bloggers email newsletter when I first got to her site. I noticed at the top that this blog is filled with recipes, crochet patterns, and general crafting stuff. This blanket hat is really cute and love the pom pom on top.

I always seem to forget about blanket yarn when it comes to making hats. Pretty much any project that calls for Bulky or Super Bulky yarn can usually be worked up using blanket. My only issue is that even though several yarn manufacturers carry blanket yarn, it usually doesnt have the wide range of color options you can find in worsted. While I have seen a few variegated shades, Ive never seen anything like a tweed.

Such an adorable looking hat! It uses the same pattern to achieve either hat, just a tad adjustment for the top of the hat...Using the Bernat Blanket yarn I never thought of this yarn for a hat! I bet it makes a really soft and stretchy completed project. I have not worked with it, but I am thinking I should give it a go. Home decor ideas are abundant- toss pillows, afghans, scatter rugs, and lots more!
