Las Olas Hat
"The Las Olas Hat was inspired by a Miami sunset, and made with just one skein of yarn of Yarn Bee Hint of Silk yarn, it works up quickly. It can be worn as a beanie or slouchy style. Tyebsize can be changed with an increase or decrease of 7 stitches for 2 inches, as long as gauge is met. An advanced beginner can make this as long as one is familiar with foundation single crochet, double crochet, chain, and slip stitch. You can easily make your hat taller by repeating rows. This will create a slouchier look. Make one today!"

This is a lovely hat and the designers choice of yarn sounds intriguing. I will certainly be looking out for that bamboo and silk mix! The designer starts with a Foundation Single Crochet which is joined to form the bottom of the hat. The stitch pattern itself is simple and repetitive, and she offers two different methods of closing the top of the hat. She also provides a link to an excellent video tutorial on finishing the hat as well.

Las Olas Hat is similar to a slouchy hat. It can be made into various colors to match your OOTD.

I live in South Florida and not very far from Las Olas. It is a great place to hang out at night on the weekends. Lots of restaurants and eclectic shops not found anywhere else. The hat color here on this page is green and the color of the hat on the designers blog is purple. I have not really noticed any greens in our sunsets. I think I would go with yellow, orange, and reds for a southern East Coast Sunset.
