The name Great Lakes Slouch Hat got me to look at this one. I live in Michigan and it gets cold here. I figured this will be a must have hat! After reading the written pattern I was right. I love the color and the stitches used to make this nice looking pattern are so easy. I can see this one being a favorite around here. Thank you so much for sharing this free Slouch Hat pattern.

I tell you, there are no shortage of slouchy beanies floating around the internet universe! This is one special, in that after completing the increasing rounds/top of the hat, you begin to work row by row and rotate your work. I am loving the grape purple Koolaid color, too.

One of my favorite things about this hat is the contrast between the bumpy sections and the flat. This is accomplished by completing a texture row and then TURNING the work so youre going in the opposite direction. This gives a very different effect than just plain Bobbles or Popcorn stitches. The designer also gives additional notes on how to make the brim longer, too.
