Fair Isle Banded Slouchy Hat
"Fair Isle prints are super hot this year, so this hat is sure to keep you warm! Made with Red Heart with Love or your favorite worsted weight yarn, this pattern uses tapestry crochet to create a fair isle print. In addition to worsted weight yarn you will need a 5.5mm crochet hook. The brim of this hat is worked in non-turning rows and the hat portion is worked in rounds. The pattern includes full written instructions as well as a pixel graph showing the fair isle print."
Crochet HookI/9 or 5.5 mm hook

I love the Fair Isle look, so I was astounded at how well this crocheted version mimics the real thing. If youre new to working the Fair Isle look, then stick to only two colors like the example. You will need to carry some yarn across the work using Tapestry techniques although the colors end at each row and are finished off. I dont generally like working hats flat rather than in the round, but its necessary in this case.

Fair isle prints are my favorite thing during the holidays - they're a nice subtle way to get in the holiday spirit and look festive without looking like a walking Christmas tree. This hat is too cute!
