I haven't made this one yet, but I will! I love the look of the V stitches and the colors..wow. This Unforgettable Hat pattern reads well and I have to agree with JaneEK below using the Magic Circle instead of a chain will make a better start and a tighter closure for this hat. Red Heart Unforgettables yarns come in so many different colors the choices are endless. I'm looking forward to having this one in my hat collection. These colors are great. The Red Heart Unforgettable yarns are awesome to work with as they are not like other yarns. There are thick areas and thin areas in the yarn at random intervals which makes each of your projects not the same as the one before. The variegated colors are great.

This project has several good points to recommend it. It works up quickly and has a matching scarf pattern, so it would make a nice gift. It uses a simple V stitchnot a problem if you can work a double crochet. The only change I would make would be to start the hat with a Magic Circle instead of a chain. Its not that hard to master, and makes a real difference in controlling the top.
