"These hats are popular, stylish and keeps your head and ears warm while wearing your hair in an up do. My daughter is crazy about these hats! She loves wearing her hair up and this hat allows her to do just that and keep warm. It takes an hour to make and uses one skein of Red Heart Soft with a J (6mm)crochet hook. Hat should fit head circumferences of 20 inches to 22 inches. You can even make a beanie instead."
Crochet HookJ/10 or 6 mm hook
Yarn Weight(4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)
Crochet Gauge6 stitches over 2 inches = 5 rows
Finished SizeHead circumference 20 to 22 inches

I have not completed a messy bun hat yet but have had tons of family and friends requesting them! This seems like a simple and perfect pattern to work up in tons of different colors and patterns to match the recipient's style and taste.
