"I have received many requests to create a pattern like my Simple Double Crochet Hat but for DK Weight Yarn or Light Weight Yarn 3. This is the DK Double Crochet Hat Pattern. This simple crochet hat pattern includes sizes from preemie to adult extra large. I have included 2 different lengths, mid-ear length and base-of-earlobe length. I hope this pattern helps all of you who like to use light weight yarn! These hats are great for donating. Choose a soft lightweight yarn for chemo caps and preemie caps."
Crochet Hook4.5 mm hook
Yarn Weight(3) Light/DK (21-24 stitches to 4 inches)
Crochet Gauge4 stitches and 2.3 rows = 1 inch

If youre new to working up hats, these basic beauties are the way to start. They are ideal for perfecting your technique and learning to control your tension. Each hat starts exactly the same way, with the only difference being the handy stitch count at the end of each row. Im happy to see this designer has made a few edits with this edition, and Ill be printing off the new instructions for my senior students.
