Wow, I love this Bold Blue Earflap Hat pattern that uses the fair isle stitch. Most people hear fair isle and think it is a knit stitch but in the crochet world you are crocheting into the back bump of the stitch which will pull the chain look down, making for a nice tight stitch. This pattern is very well written and easy to under stand. I will be making this hat in a few different colors, the kids will love this hat! Thank you so much for sharing this free crochet pattern.

mysticfall to make tassels this is what i do For a two color tassel I cut of each color long Pull all twelve pieces through one of the holes near the point of the ear flap Even them up equally on each side For braiding take pieces from top and from bottom middle part will have of each color and Then start braiding I secure the bottom with a piece of yarn wound a couple of times and then tied into a knot For the name this is what I did for one of mine when you make the hat crochet in back loops only In the front loops after hat is finished slide hook in loop and chain then slide hook in next loop and chain continue shaping whatever alphabet letter you are doing Finish off letter Then start your next letter skipping a space Hope this is easy to…Read More understand

Enjoyed working this pattern! I am not a master crocheter by any means - so i was real pleased with the results for this pattern. I've never worked a "fair isle" and found that a little challenging for the first time - but I would most likely work it again now that i understand the concept a little better. I used the medium/large scale and it just fit my teenage daughter. USed the Simply Soft Caron - but in different colors. Thanks for the pattern.
