Alpine Ridges Hat
"The Alpine Ridges Hat pattern is a nicely textured hat featuring the front post and back post stitches to create the ridges of the hat as well as the faux knit stitch for the knit like edging. There is also a video tutorial to explain how to make the cute crocheted flower button decoration. The pattern is written in adult size but instructions are given to easily resize the hat to different sizes. An easy and fun pattern!"

I love the look of this hat. The designer goes into great detail explaining the various stitches and the effects they create, and if you are new to any of them, shes also provided several embedded video tutorials. This style is one of my favorites, and since were starting to get a little nip in the air over night, it will soon be time to haul out the beanies, toques and slouchies!

Finally, I find a pattern specifically made for use with the Caron Cakes Cupcakes yarn. I would like to see what this hat looks like on a real person, though. Is it a little bit of a slouch? Is it a straight up traditional hat? I do not care much for the flower, but THAT is just a matter of personal preference. You decide what you like and go for it! It is funny how crocheters want to use a faux knit stitch in their hats!

I love knit hats but I'm so slow knitting compared to how fast I can get something done through crochet.
