I absolutely love this. Not just because it's very easy, of course that's part of it. But the granny square is my all time favorite design. It's so adaptable. You can use colors that match the rest of your outfit. You can add beads and ribbons. Just use your fertile imagination!

Well, if I would have seen this sooner, I would have been able to make about 100 pairs! no lie. I did a huge, huge blanket instead. Now, I just came up with this idea since I know crochet basics, I realize that after I join my squares I can work in the round across the top of the squares in a simple single crochet to make a mitten! I would do a solid color coordinating color. Same thing goes for a thumb! Neat.

Yes, I have a stack of one-off granny squares, and no, I dont know what to do with all of them, so this project definitely ticks off the boxes! The pattern to turn your granny square into wrist warmers is so clever and simple, Im surprised I havent come across it before. Thank you so very, very much for finding this gem of a project.
