Minnesota Layette Blanket
"The Minnesota Layette Blanket is part of a crochet set that includes a blanket, newborn sweater and newborn hat. The Blanket is a great pattern for a beginner who wants to do more than just double crochet the whole time. Pick two colors and learn how to make a long single crochet stitch along with the popcorn stitch. When the blanket is done, try the hat and the sweater. Using the pound of love yarn gives you mare than enough yarn to finish off all three pieces."

What an unusual texture pattern this project has! I dont think it really works for the cardigan, but it certainly does for the blanket and hat. The entire pattern set is clearly written and easy to understand, and if you are making the sweater, theres a nice photo of what that looks like laid flat (before you sew up the sides and arms).
