Crocheted Sixtopus
"Crocheted Sixtopus is a handmade stuffed animal toy for a newborn baby. Make it from any light weight #3 yarn of your choice. Octopuses (in my case Sixtopus) are popular in Europe where they give them to prematurely born children because tentacles represent the umbilical cord and help vulnerable babies get well sooner. Follow a free written pattern or crochet along instructional video (on my blog). All you need to know is how to crochet chain, single crochet stitch, single crochet two together, double crochet stitch, and slip stitch. Great item to gift to any new mom or dad for their baby."

So sweet and so easy to make. It's just right to put a smile on a little ones face. It doesn't even have to be a new born. Any little person would enjoy it. I know my two year old twin Gand sons would love it. I better get busy, I have to make two.

This is a sweet pattern. Thats quite a story about hospitals and homemade gifts, and I can understand their hesitancy. Weve had a few NICU babies in our family. Why not just work it up for people you know instead? This is such a simple and quick scrapbuster that it would be perfect for a craft show. Ill bet they would sell great at a charity bazaar, too.

Step by step instructions for this easy to make baby toy called the sixtopus because it is an octopus with six legs instead of eight. These were originally designed for premature newborns in hospitals. Some hospitals accept these as donations some do not so check with them first before you go.
